Nathra Kyssa
Having recorded with Chris on two previous occasions – the original ‘Doom’EP for Nathra Kyssa and the 2002 Demo for Dysentery – I was looking forward to working again with him on Nathra Kyssa’s full-length album.
During the time I spent with him working on the album, I found Chris to be patient, thoughtful and professional. He was focused on getting the best out of myself, himself and the recording.
This attention to detail by Chris was carried over into the post-recording stage. I had given Chris a brief of my vision for the overall sound and feel that I wanted, so he already knew what to aim for when I gave him free reign in the mastering and engineering. By letting Chris explore various ideas he was able to come up with things I hadn’t thought of or things that enhanced the feel of the production.
Between the two of us we were able to produce an excellent recording that transmitted the emotion and mood of the album in a way the surpassed my original vision. We explored various ideas and paid attention to detail, and this shows in the quality of the final product.
